I think Yassin was more analogous to David Koresh or Shoko Asahara (spiritual leader of the Aum Shinrikyo cult) than he was to the democratically-elected leader of a progressive democracy.
But I will say this: that the Palestinians' cause was much hurt by their militants' decision not to limit attacks to political and military targets.
