BAINBRIDGE -- A man arrested Tuesday on federal explosives charges in Ross County is not suspected of having ties to any organized group.

Paul Zahn, 44, was taken into custody at a home at 2761 Tong Hollow Road in Paxton Township on federal charges of conspiring to possess and transfer explosives. Two other men, one from western Ohio and the other living in Kentucky, also were arrested.

A federal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky charges that twice during February, the Bancroft brothers sold about 12 blocks of military-grade C4 explosives at a location in Walton, Ky.. Zahn is accused of conspiring with the brothers to obtain and deliver the explosives.

Brooks said the question of where the three suspects obtained the explosives still is being investigated.
