I have two children and can honestly say I only lost it with my son once when he was about that age. I gave him about 4 wacks on the bottom, and not that hard. My husband was out of town at the time, and my son had plucked my last nerve. Afterwards, I was so wracked with guilt, I called my husband in tears. I do understand getting angry, and even losing your temper, but to do something cruel and hurtful is beyond my comprehension. And to get angry because a 4 year old can't recite the alphabet is just ridiculous.
