323. If you really want to know why Martha won the primary, you could ask, or
you could go to the Massachusetts forum at DU or whatever. Or you could check out this post for my thoughtful and considered opinion, for whatever one person's opinion may be worth: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=244x2468#2511

BUT, If all you really want to do is diss Democratic voters in Massachusetts, the nicest suggestion I can muster is that you go fuck yourself--and I don't put that word in posts very often.

Massachusetts Democrats voted for McGovern when ALL the rest of the electoral votes went to someone who had to resign; and we voted for Mondale when "Reagan Democrats" were busy voting for the man whose policies started this country on the path where it now finds itself. We went for Obama against McCain in November 2009 by 62%.

We've had at least one Democratic U.S. Senator continuously since 1952 and two Democratic Senators continuously since 1978 (with one liberal "Lincoln Republican" before that--Brooke hadn't woken up yet to realize Republicans were no longer the Party of Lincoln)). Our state legislature is about 95% Democratic. And yes, we've had Republican Governors, but they all ran as liberals, even lying Romney. Besides, our legislature can override gubernatorial vetoes in its sleep.

And Coakley ran in the primary on the exact same liberal platform as Mike Capuano, a member of the House Progressive caucus. For that matter, all four Democratic primary candidaes.

Don't lecture Massachusetts Democratic voters about Republican lite.
