correct me if i'm wrong, but you're saying that seeing the brutal suffering of christ, well out of context of his overall life, increases your (or anybody's) your faith in god/belief in christ?

anyhow, that's what i call scary - but as others have pointed out bloodlust seems to be alive and well.

by contrast, if somebody made a movie based on christ's "love your neighbor as yourself" teachings - definitely a concept worth embracing - then i'd be all for learning more about this guy.

as an aside, too bad mel didn't make a movie showing the intense suffering of iraqi civilians at the hands of the christian leaders of our country over the past 15 years or so. now that might have actually served a useful purpose in society.
