Carnahan, the two-term Democratic secretary of state, will seek the seat being vacated by four-term Sen. Kit Bond, a Republican.

I posted about this probability the day Bond announced he wasn't going to run in 2010, and sure enough here she is (the next Senator from Missouri and a good Dem). Even running against Roy Blunt, which is likely, she ought to clean his clock pretty easily.
