The problem here that we have isn't busting meth-heads- that should happen.

What nobody at all should be willing to tolerate is being cast under suspicion for buying items that are legal and stocked on the shelf.

By buying these items which they are providing, you are labeled a potential criminal, even if you're using all of them for perfectly legitimate purposes.

What if you have four kids, all of them have colds, and you want each to use their own bottle of cold medicine so they don't cross-infect each other as easily? Legit purpose, but BOOM! you're under suspicion anyway.

Basically, they're saying "we're providing the product, but if you buy them, we're gonna examine you closely." Entrapment, plain and simple.

Our local stores do this as well, and have done for a long time. The only people the practice has netted have been people buyint the items for legit purposes. It seems as if, when it works, it's sheer luck.

By the way: corporate personhood allows this.
