5. Maybe not so surprising when you think about it
Neocons and Communists are really in the same boat in Iraq, in the sense that both are fighting both Saddam loyalists and religious fundies. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, as the old adage goes.

Actually, whether we like it or not, I think we're all in that boat. Before we leave, (if we ever leave) I think everybody in this country agrees we need to make it possible for a real small-d democratic government to exist.

We need to find some way to hammer a silver lining onto the cloud of war.
