My heart goes out to the families of the police officers and to the marine and his family.

Why does my heart go out to the Marine. It is because he has been trained to kill people. The government trained him to murder people. Perhaps in a persons conscious mind they can differentiate between killing enemy soldiers and non enemy persons (however if that were true for all of our troops, so many Iraqi civilians wouldn't be getting slaughtered). But I don't think that, at a sub conscious level, a person can just flip a switch and go from trained killer to regular citizen. Especially once a trained killer has been to war and been traumatized by what he saw happen and what he was forced to do. I think that this Marine had to be depressed and most likely suffered from PTSD.

Wait until all of our troops come home. More Vietnam vets have committed suicide that died in the war. This time around, it won't be any better.
