Roemer would have Democrats compromise without any political strength or advantage. If Democrats don't force Republicans to make concessions, how can the DNC spark a debate on abortion or any other issue?

Tim wants to expand this party ideologically, but only to keep opponents of the Iraqi War, deficit spending, and criminalizing abortion off the public stage. It would be like Washington surrendering to Cornwallis just to include the Redcoats and King in our national tent.
