37. The interaction of the Tsunami and the Continental Shelves
That causes the most damages, in deep water the Tsunami can go DEEP into the oceans depths, thus the wave merely lefts the water maybe just by a few inches. The problems occurs when the Wave hits the Continental shelf. At that point the wave has no place to go but UP, and that is why the danger is NOT in the high seas by near the coasts.
