34. They're keeping the wounded on a tight rein, too
Just last week I called both Bethesda Navy Hospital and Walter Reed Army Hospital in DC. My intent was to have two wounded ambulatory soldiers to our house for Christmas. We've done this in the past with active duty people, but this year wanted to do it for the wounded specifically .... like maybe a guy in physical rehab or something.

Anyway, in both cases I was told they couldn't allow it. Some notion of security and liability. Okay. So I said I had done it with non-wounded in the past. In both cases (Bethesda and Walter Reed) I was told that active duty non-wounded can make up their own minds and use a pass to get out, but the guys in the hospital couldn't.

So lemme get this straight ..... if they're wounded they can't think?
