I used the word sincerely, so I don't appreciate being called disingenuous in response just because you disagree with its application. But since you want me to spell it out for you, I will.

According to the American Heritage dictionary, 'sacrifice' means: "To forfeit (one thing) for another thing considered to be of greater value."

Tom Daschle forfeited his job as an elected legislator from South Dakota due to his efforts as national legislative leader for the Democratic Party.

Those are the facts, whether you like the guy or not.
