I managed about ten minutes.

If you want to get a feel for the documentary, skip to 10:33 and watch for 7 seconds.

3. 'Reefer Madness' for the 21st Century?
We would smoke, (hey, statute of limitation counts here) then go to the midnight movie theater to watch whatever movie was showing..I recon they knew the majority was stoned back then...and they showed 'Reefer Madness' like a lead in to the 'Reel Movie'...

5. Why aren't they talking about this?
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-drugs-epidemic-20110918,0,5517691.story?track=rss

Propelled by an increase in prescription narcotic overdoses, drug deaths now outnumber traffic fatalities in the United States, a Times analysis of government data has found.

Drugs exceeded motor vehicle accidents as a cause of death in 2009, killing at least 37,485 people nationwide, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While most major causes of preventable death are declining, drugs are an exception. The death toll has doubled in the last decade, now claiming a life every 14 minutes. By contrast, traffic accidents have been dropping for decades because of huge investments in auto safety.

Public health experts have used the comparison to draw attention to the nation's growing prescription drug problem, which they characterize as an epidemic. This is the first time that drugs have accounted for more fatalities than traffic accidents since the government started tracking drug-induced deaths in 1979.

<snip>

I haven't heard of any epidemic of marijuana overdoses causing death.

6. I don't think there is any such thing
30+ years of smoking and I've never heard of a single one. I'm pretty sure it can not happen.

17. Marijuana is non-toxic/non-lethal
hence such an epidemic would be impossible. ;)

14. Marijuana is illegal because...
If marijuana became legal almost half the cops in the country would be unemployed, a quarter of the prisons would be shut down, cities would go broke from the lack of forfeiture and fine proceeds, and almost half a million people that work in the courts, jails, and rehab facilities would be out of a job. These are the people that benefit from prohibition and are being funded by our tax dollars and the 858,408 people arrested every year (one every 30 seconds) for the simple use of marijuana.
