McCain releases statement regarding Libya (with veiled criticism of Obama)

Excerpt:

STATEMENT BY SENATORS McCAIN AND GRAHAM ON END OF THE QADAFFI REGIME IN LIBYA
August 21, 2011

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) today released the following statement regarding the end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya:

“The end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya is a victory for the Libyan people and for the broader cause of freedom in the Middle East and throughout the world. This achievement was made possible first and foremost by the struggle and sacrifice of countless Libyans, whose courage and perseverance we applaud. We also commend our British, French, and other allies, as well as our Arab partners, especially Qatar and the UAE, for their leadership in this conflict. Americans can be proud of the role our country has played in helping to defeat Qaddafi, but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.

19. After two GOP-initiated wars spanning nearly a decade...
The Republicans are very bothered that the imminent ouster of Qadaffi is happening so quickly. Time to re-activate the right wing spin machine.

28. 4 months 22 days for NATO intervention so far (NATO already said they're backing off).
5 months 3 days if you include the pre-NATO activities such as Operation Odyssey Dawn, however, that was full scale war on our part (which was 12 days, that's days, not weeks), so they should be taken separately.

18. More Republican duplicity
It's not enough, bomb Qadaffi into the stone age. No, wait, we don't belong there, no third war. On second thought, the U.S. should always take the lead role in any NATO mission. But absoltely no boots on the ground, not ever. On third thought, we should have done more sooner to assist the rebels. Whatever the outcome, it much took longer than necessary thanks to Obama. Oh, and Bush snuffed bin Laden...
