We know the Republicans won't just raise the ceiling like they did for Bush several time. We know the Democrats are insisting on a balanced approach of cuts and taxes. We know the Republicans are insisting on cuts only no taxes. We know President Obama wants a big plan of $4 trillion. We know the Republicans want a small plan only $2 trillion (small?) We have been told President Obama put the social safety net on the chopping block. Republicans say President Obama hasn't put forth a plan, but I haven't heard a Republican one either.
What will it really take to cut 2-4 trillion dollars from the budget?
I tried to find the "real" budget on line, but all I can find are summaries. I could find how much the Dept. of Ed gets, the Dept. of Def, and such. But, I wanted to see a line by line budget. I wanted to know how much money went to what. If, the Dept. of Trans is spending on a study for a road project I want to know, if the Dept. of Def is spending for a new troop transport I want to know. Not that those may be good uses of our tax dollars, I just wanted to know, plus I bet I could find something I would feel is wasteful.
Now I have wondered just what is going to need to be cut to really get trillions of dollars in saving. Then, I wondered if our elected leaders have a clue either. Just what are they REALLY planning to cut to get 2-4 trillion dollars?
Has anyone heard more information?
