Here are my winners and losers for the week. Winners; 1, President Obama. Now that the death of Osama Bin Laden is wearing off, you might have expected his poll numbers to start heading a little south. Well, such is not the case so far. Instead, two new polls came out this week, one of which had Obama the same as the week before, and another one had him up two points from the previous week. While the polls will probably not stay like this for much longer, the numbers are steady.
2, Chris Matthews. Chris continues taking on the right wing, and dissecting them at every turn, especially Newt Gingrich. He's not letting Gingrich get away with his stupidity like others have been doing, (i.e. FoxNews). Just think if Sarah Palin declares her run for the White House, Matthews will have an orgasm, and definitely more ammo to shoot.
Losers; 1, Newt Gingrich. Newtie spent most of the week backpeddling, and apologizing to Paul Ryan. in fact, it got so bad, even Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh attacked him. If Newt has anymore bad weeks like he did this week, he might poll in negative numbers. One thing is for sure, Newt is certainly the butt of the comedy shows and late night TV.
2, Harold Camping. Mr Camping is so sure that the rapture is coming. He even knows the date and the exact time it will occur. What gets me is that he has people running around and actually believing the tripe coming from his mouth. I wonder what he's gonna say on Monday when we're still here? Gotta tune in and find out.
3, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yes, the former governor of California got caught this week when it was revealed that he fathered a child out of wedlock more than a decade ago. Wife Maria Shriver is none to pleased, and has filed for divorce and moved out. Don't you just love it when the so-called morals party has to eat their own words??
4, Cornel West. West has never been shy about voicing his opinions on a variety of subjects. Well this week, his mouth turned ugly. West said that Obama was nothing but a "black mascot for Wall Street, has a certain fear of free black men, and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats". Apparently Mr. West may have a problem of his own. Joan Walsh pinned him beautifully. Cornel West is a racist, and Obama doesn't need that kind of friend hanging around him.
