2. Until the Federal Government takes over the clean up |
|
and stops BP from trying to continue to make money while oil is exploding in the Gulf, none of it matters.

5. You seriously think that |
|
having the Federal Government take over the clean up when BP has dicked around for over a month is a bailout? I want the gushing oil to stop and the clean up to begin, you are worried about Obama being blamed for it.

7. The gushing oil cannot be stopped, no matter how hard they are trying. |
|
They may get lucky with top kill method but something tells me the relief well was always the best and only solution. No one knows how to stop oil from gushing 5000 feet down. It is all experimental. That is worse then just being incompetent. There is no backup plan with something like this, after the explosion happened. Something tells me deep sea drilling 5000 feet below the surface of the ocean combined with no shutoff valve equals unparalleled disaster. That is because all of the methods of stopping it have been tried before but not at this depth.

20. We should send our volcano experts. |
|
Whoever figured out how to stop Mount Saint Helens should be sent there. We need experts who know how to stop geological-scale disasters.
Afterwards, we need to send them to Yellowstone, there's a mild annoyance there that regularly (faithfully?) gushes all kinds of dangerous toxins.

4. After reading this, something popped into my head: MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE LET THE FIRES RAGE |
|
ON? I mean, what if we had let the fire rage a while longer, consuming the oil as it floated up? My husband just said "nah, it could not have kept up."
I wonder............

10. We should send Cheney down there. |
|
After all, no one really would survive past 1,500 feet. It has never even been attempted. Either him or the BP Ceo and his Halliburton and Transocean buddies.

I think that would be the pattern, that incredibly convoluted situations have appropriate very simple ways of thinking about them.
