Obama committed to moving ahead on health care

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says it's going to be very difficult to push a major health care overhaul through Congress.

But the president says he really thinks "the stars may be aligned" and that a deal can get done if everyone involved works in a spirit of compromise, rather than rigid ideology.

Obama tells C-SPAN in an interview airing Saturday that he's "absolutely committed" to keeping the process moving forward — to find ways to cut costs, increase efficiency and make sure families can get health care coverage without bankrupting them.

Obama says changing the health care system will cost a lot of money upfront — but in the long run end up saving lots of money.

He thinks "the stars may be aligned."? Who the hell has he got advising him now, Nancy Reagan? Actually the story, if written accurately, reads more like a pre-cursor laying the foundation for defeat. The 'stars unaligned!, and so we had to go with the healthcare & Drug Companies Cartel plan.

Mr. president, DO NOT mess this one up!

1. It's just a common saying.
It has nothing to do with Nancy Ray Gun.

And believe me, I am not an Obama apologist.

2. He and congress have already messed this up by kicking the
single payer advocates out. Not even listening to them nor inviting them to the table along with the health insurance industry. This "reform" is not a reform. it is a sham.

4. Apparently, "...that a deal can get done if everyone involved works in a spirit of compromise,
rather than rigid ideology." is us who advocate single payer universal health care. Apparently those who come from a rigid money making place, the for profit health care industry, don't need to compromise because they don't have any ideology. Frankly, I don't get it. Single payer comes from a middle of the aisle compromise. It has the socialist element, the government collecting money and then disbursing it and then the capitalistic element, where health care providers run their own practices and are in business for themselves. IT IS THE COMPROMISE!

7. Now Cleita, you're being both rigid and silly. Every red-blooded 'Murikin knows
that without profits we would all simply end up squatting in the road rubbing gravel in our hair while our loved ones lie on the ground bleeding to death after the communist hordes have invaded and taken all our beer and Teevees.

If you go around reading what is actually said you will always be unhappy and your dishes will have spots and you will suffer from that "not so fresh" feeling.
:silly:

5. If you are making issue over Obama saying a common saying then you are just looking for things
to attack Obama. "Do not mess this one up!" also if you can't see that Obama has corrected many things in four months that were messed up over the last eight years then its pretty clear that you will never give Obama any credit.

8. The truly sad thing is how easily so many are accepting that hurting
corporate profits "is off the table" even though it costs thousands of lives.

9. what a cruel sick joke he`s playing on the american people.
"....make sure families can get health care coverage without bankrupting them."

i have health care insurance and i have to file bankruptcy on the amount the insurance companies did`t pay.

it`s just another bail out for corporate america.
