Graduation Speaker FAIL
I'm getting my Masters in Information Technology Management (MSITS) degree on Tuesday. It's a cross between an IT degree and an MBA, and it's from the School of Business. So, I log onto the website for other information, and find out that our speaker is the current Chairman of the Board of Citibank, who is the former CEO of Time Warner.

FAIL!

Why on the Goddess's green Earth would someone think that the head of Citibank would be a good inspiration for newly-minted grads in business? What's he gonna do, tell us NOT to do like he did? I wonder if I'll get the sheepskin before he speaks. If so, I'd love to stand up and ask him why he's flying around in his corporate jet while taking the taxpayers' money. Oh, and to tell him that my friend who got laid off from AOL/Time Warner says "thanks for nothing, asshole!" But I'd prefer to have diploma in hand before I heckle.

2. You now have the MBA curse
the curse of knowing too much and not being able to be stupid and unaware of the significance of so much. If you were getting a high school diploma and this guy was the speaker, you'd be thinking how cool it is. Now, you know too much and can't be fooled.

Getting an MBA or something close to it such as what you're getting can make you the biggest cynic around.

3. Oh, yeah, him. Chairman of Bush's Social Security privatization commission.
He'll no doubt get a standing ovation.

6. Don't *ssume, billlyoc.......
You "know what happens when one 'assumes'....you make an ass out of u and me .... ass+u+me = assume

(an 'oldy' but "true" .... and while I have the utmost respect for younger people today ~ which is pretty much most of the population vs. 'me'......I realize that most 'younger people; don't have the perspective that we do, don't 'know' our old sayings, so I'm just making a feeble attempt to convey some of what we've come to learn. *sigh* Hope that makes some sense.......

7. Considering the Law of Supply & Demand, I'd say they were able to get him cheap.
Knowing he's a failed Wall Street parasite - I'd say their first choice bowed out & he was an expensive last minute replacement.

9. I was wrong
It was the guy that was sent in to CLEAN UP Citibank after the last dude ran it into the ground. He was also an Obama advisor. His name was Richard Parsons.
