U.S. Attorney's Office Warned Staff Not To Use Drudge Report

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.

In an e-mail message sent May 4, Paul Harvey, an information-technology official for the Boston office, wrote that security specialists with the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the Department of Justice asked them “to reformat/reimage two computers because the user visited the drudgereport.com site.”

“Please avoid the Drudgereport website from the computers,” Harvey wrote.

Harvey said that if employees had a “work-related reason to visit the site,” access could be provided off the government network.

Asked why the conservative-leaning news aggregator and President Barack Obama critic was flagged by Internet security officials, Tracy Schmaler, a Department of Justice spokeswoman, said it was because “a malicious code was found contained in a Web ad on Drudge.”

Schmaler also said the request to stay off Drudge wasn’t politically motivated and said it was sent only to the office in Massachusetts. She also said other popular sites were later found to have potential viruses, including ESPN.com.

1. It's official: Drudge Report spreads mentally transmitted diseases.
Avoid it like the plague! LOL.

3. Pretty ironic
Using a Politco link. Not slamming. Just think it's funny.

But yes, sponsors have been known to put malicious codes in their ads. Fortunately, one of the worst offenders went bust recently. Sadly, for every shuttered ZANGO, there will be numerous others to take its place.

I'm not surprised Drudge would take money from an adware propagator. Then again, he may not be bright enough to realize what his sponsors are doing behind his back.

I knew they were going to turn bloated and irritating when they hooked up with AOL, back in the beginning.

10. If it's associated with Arianna Huffington,
it's bogus.

Don't forget that she was one of the biggest rightwingers ever to hit DC when she married her gay husband who then bought a Congressional seat. She set up a salon in DC and was mightily upset when he came out of the closet, lost his reelection bid, and wanted a divorce.

She hightailed it back to California, blessed with millions that she got in her divorce settlement, and refashioned herself as a liberal.

Whenever I see her, the channel gets chained. She's disgusting, so it's no surprise that her site sucks ......................

My work is technically, quite pedestrian. I write lessons and articles on technology, issues and such. Just the same, that doesn't stop "some people" from calling me assorted names. That's why I chose this moniker. Might as well beat them to the punch!

17. I completely understand ........
The best defense, and all that. But, you chose a GREAT name!

Having been a lawyer for almost all of my adult life, I commiserate. Once, I tried telling the lawyer jokes before the idiot civilians did.

It just got tiresome. That's when I had the idea of opening a law office called "Tricks and Torts," with the sign on the window reading, "When you walk in here, you KNOW you're gonna get screwed."

The local bar association would have given me grief, I just know it............

18. Ha!
I love lawyers. Got a couple in my family. Not to mention all they do for the folks in my industry.

One of the law firms (that specializes in my profession) had these awesome t-shirts that read:

We eat what we kill

Funny lawyers are the best lawyers.

25. Our firm's softball team
had shirts that said:

STUPIDITY HAS BEEN VERY, VERY GOOD TO US

Oh, we have a lot to laugh about, and, you're right - a lawyer without a sense of humor is worthless.

Why not? Next to Matt Drudge, Paul Harvey looks like Edward R. Murrow.
