3. They buzzed the run-up to war, and then this.
It's such a trite thing to say, but I do think that a lot of complacent people in the NYT office building were complicit in many deaths both domestic and foreign. I'm sure it's nothing they would really want to examine or talk about. They misused and then didn't use their influence with disastrous results.

People should view them with well-earned skepticism. Their cynicism and ill-natured humor/commentary towards Al Gore cost us that one too.

4. Whatever the cause the fact is they are partially responsible for Bush's reelection
Of course they were also surprisingly one of the greatest cheerleaders for invading Iraq too, so they definitely had their interests aligned more with Bush than with Kerry.
