Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
Oh, I love that program. Why? Can someone tell me why I love it?

4. All I had to do was read the title of the thread
and the little theme song followed right behind.

That's one of the programs I have on my iPod for my daily bus commute. (Also This American Life, Vinyl Cafe, Selected Shorts, & The Moth...all free on iTunes!)

5. From NPR and Chicago Public Radio,
this is Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! The NPR news quiz. I'm Carl Kasell--and here's your host, from the Chase Auditorium in downtown Chicago...Peeeeeter Sagal!

8. I don't like that program at all.
It takes really important issues and makes light of them, diminishing their relevancy. Relegating them to the "Well, that's the way things have always been. What are you gonna do? I guess all you can do is sit back and laugh. HaHaHaHaHa!" dust bind of history.

Now here comes the predictable slew of "Lighten up, Francis" responses.

9. BBC radio used to have two programs I loved
My Word, and My Music. They were the smartest, wittiest half hours of radio time. Same concept as What What -- a live audience, questions, clever people, good pace.

I don't often get to listen to radio any more. A shame. I love it.

13. For anyone who wants a sample, here's the link:

They have an on-line quiz for those of us who think we're well-informed.
Always, I turn out to be not nearly as well-informed as I thought I was.

14. And a week after Obama's inauguration,
they noted that they'd been afraid they wouldn't have any more good material with this new administration, but nope! Lots of good material even with the good guys.
