I just caught that in the opening minutes of Countdown. Rudy is standing there and McCain is next to him and Ghouliani didn't say "He'll make a great President of the United States, but used the expression "Commander in Chief"
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!?
Heavens to Mergatroid, what the fuck is it with that guy? Is EVERYTHING in the context of war?
The United States of America does not have a Commander in Chief.
The Armed Forces do.

6. I said the same thing to my wife when I heard it. |
|
It's not just Giuliani though -- all the GOP candidates use "Commander in Chief" as a synonym for "President."
I think Bush has said the same thing more than a few dozen times, I think even once saying to the press, "I'm your Commaner in Chief" or some such drivel.
I agree with the poster above -- it feeds the militaristic fetish.
