If you want to understand the last 7 years, and what the plan for the next 8 years is, you need to know one fact:
In a world of increasing oil demand and decreasing oil supplies, Iraq sits on 300 to 400 BILLION barrels of Oil.
Even if all other sources of oil ran dry and oil consumption increased to 100 million barrels a day, that’s enough oil for 8 to 11 years all by itself.
Now, how did that happen? Well, casting the Saudis in the role of “swing producer” while suppressing Iraq (and Iran) has been the game for a long, long time. And a great and profitable game it was; just one problem: eventually the Saudi oil will run out. And that’s why the United States of Big Oil built those 14 multi-billion dollar bases around the Iraqi oil.
Now, I don’t think anyone really expected US/British invasion troops to be welcomed as liberators. So I think the plan all along was Bad Cop/Good Cop. Bush/Cheney did the Bad Cop invasion and the pacification (read: kill as many young men as possible) and the next administration will be the Good Cop that turns the lights and water back on. You see, sometime in the next 4 to 8 years, Big Oil is going to have to start pumping Iraq if they want to maintain their Control of Oil.
And guess what? The candidates that promise to stay in Iraq and fix it are the front-runners. Who’d a thunk it?
