Before the recent rapprochement, Hillary Clinton got in trouble for pointing out, correctly, that while Martin Luther King had a dream, he needed an American president - LBJ - to make it come true politically.
It occurs to me that Osama bin Laden also has a dream, and that he too needed an American president - gwb - to make it come true. OBL knocked down two buildings, but what else could he have done to us all on his own?
* Without bush, how could Osama break the American military? * Without bush, how could Osama alienate America from the world? * Without bush, how could Osama bankrupt the American Treasury? * Without bush, how could Osama undermine the American Constitution? * Without bush, how could Osama overthrow our system of government?
The obvious answer: he couldn't! Without bush and cheney doing his bidding from the inside every step of the way, OBL would have failed to achieve so much of his dream, just as MLK's dream would have gone unfulfilled without President Johnson. Incredibly, bush also took out Saddam, the one check we had on Iran and al Qaeda in the region, allowing al Qaeda to move into Iraq (another OBL dream). He stopped even talking about chasing Osama at some point, maybe the day he got his Ramadan bonus or something.
And people call hating bush "irrational". Sheesh.
