My stupid take on Hillary "crying."
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 09:39 PM by BuyingThyme
I didn't see anybody crying. I saw somebody trying out a new angle on an old strategy. There's nothing wrong with that.

I think the thing that gives it away is that she starts talking about how important it is that we force change, but then alludes to the differences between herself and Obama on the question of experience. Had that been a genuine cry, had I been the one crying, Cheney and the Chimp would have been the first people to come to mind, not Obama and his lack of experience.

It was as if she started crying about the death of a relative and then explains that she was actually crying about having to change the fast-dial on her telephone.

8. I just looked for the first time.
I usually don't even bother with the vids, but even the Malloy sit-in is discussing it, so I figured it was required viewing.

4. I saw a very difficult and human reaction.
I think the response to this is akin to the Dean scream. Move along.

That said, I am still voting for Kucinich.

5. I saw a contrivance.
And I neither have a problem with what she did nor with the Dean scream.

I think she was trying out a new trick, maybe real, maybe fake.

9. "There's nothing wrong with that." There's plenty wrong with it.

We're looking for the leader of the free world here, not a mommy for our kids. I don't give a shit if she has a soft side or not. I want her to be tough as nails when the cameras are on and the world is watching.

Did Madeline Albright cry when Arafat would make her life a living hell?

Do you think Condi Rice gets all emotional when she's road weary and tired of the stress? Hell, even Karen Hughes wouldn't do such a thing -- she was the one making people cry.

When our President sits across the table from Putin and looks that hardass square in the eye, I want Putin to wince.

If this was a political ploy, it exploded in her face. Horribly.

11. We don't need weak leaders.
Yeah, Reagan showed some aspects of being human when he greeted families after an airline disaster -- a tear or two. Genuine caring. That's acceptable.

By getting all weepy 'cause running for President is hard? :puke:
