McCain on Iraq...100 years and counting

As everyone eyes Iowa, a late breaking development from the Straight Talk Express. McCain was just in a Q&A with reporters, and essentially said he'd be good with occupying Iraq for 100 years. Lets see how long the McCain "surge" lasts...

Here's the back and forth, footage to follow:

Q: President Bush has talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years -- " (cut off by McCain)

McCain: "Make it a hundred."

Q: "Is that ..." (cut off)

McCain: "We've been in South Korea ... we've been in Japan for 60 years. We've been in South Korea 50 years or so. That would be fine with me. As long as Americans ..."

Q:

McCain: "As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed. That's fine with me, I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Queada is training and equipping and recruiting and motivating people every single day.

1. What the old Senator is forgetting....

...is we are under a Status of Forces Agreement with the countries he mentioned where are troops are stationed. We are not 'occupying' those countries as we are Iraq. Chalk this up to a senior moment on the old Senator's part.

it's not just a cultural thing, it's a RELIGIOUS thing, and our presence fuels terror--it's a vicious cycle. We stay to "fight terra", and our presence causes terra. This man is addled--he needs a brain scan.

7. Yeah but it's the base of operations for the endless war.

We keep our bases in Iraq and move out from there to conquer the rest of the ME and then move on to Korea and eventually China. That's the PNAC plan. Seriously.
