1. Having former Bushbots....
potentially influencing the Democratic party scares me. I really rather they just stay home!

The more, the merrier imo.

4. Most of these people who are "seeing the light"...
Are sociopaths who aren't capable of empathy... that didn't start seeing anything wrong with this Administration until it started to effect THEM.

Embracing folks such as these, well, all I gotta say is careful what you wish for.
It is an influence I'd rather not associated with, and feel it will be detrimental to the party in the long run.

6. 'folks such as these' compose 1/2 the damn country. We'd better
embrace them. And of course they're capable of empathy, and many feelings, just like anyone.

Open up your narrow mind; we won't get anywhere with that.

8. Fine then...
This country will never dig out of the shit the asshole they voted for wrought, because they'll be influencing our party now.

More of the same... that will be sad.

9. Baloney. People are people, and some are stupid or clueless. Some
actually think and are educated but have been deluded. Now they're recognizing that. I'm not going to discount intelligent people who realize they fucked up. I welcome them for opening their eyes.

5. How does Hillary "scare" her compared to what the narcissists in the WH have done?
I don't support Hillary either. But she doesn't "scare" me.

What is she talking about?

10. It's weird what they've done to Hillary
I'm no Hillary supporter either, but I do listen semi-regularly to Rush (know thine enemy) and he's been demonizing her for almost a decade. I realized that the Repubs considered her a major threat because she's got a formidable political will.

But a while a go, I realized that in everything they've said about her over the years, they've never mentioned a reason why they hate her so much. They just do the typical smearings and "make-a-mountain-of-a-molehill" stuff.

Perhaps it's just that - she's a major threat to them because they realized her potential. Or, as many state, they're all misogynists who will fight against ANY woman with such political power.

If Hillary DOES lose the primaries, it'll confuse the Hell out of the Repub supporters, because Rush and his buddies keep telling them that Hillary is our favoritest candidate EVAH.

This would screw up the carefully prepared script.

11. Glad they've come around
and that your step-mother likes Edwards, but I don't understand why she'd say Hillary scares her. I'm mainly for Edwards myself, but nothing about Hillary Clinton scares me. I like her and will support her without hesitation if she's the nominee.

16. I have a very close male friend who is a Reagan conservative....
...and he came over for dinner last night and the issue of Bush came up. All I said was <with a smirk on my face>, "I told you so when you voted for the SOB in 2004..." and to this, he replied, "The worst mistake I ever made was voting for Bush..."

Now THAT is progress in my book! My jaw fell when he admitted that. He does not like Hillary or Obama, but he does like Edwards...and he does NOT like any of the Puddies very much either.

Hmmmmmm.....

19. If this trend lasts at least one election cycle, that's a check in the plus column.
Most of the folks in my red town just don't talk about * much anymore. How they will vote is uncertain; I hope some choose the democratic candidate in the general election.

22. You're fortunate. A sister of mine with whom I've had screaming fights...
about Dumbya ("Vote for Bush and you're kids will be in the M.E. in ten years.") is not now, nor has she ever been, or has she ever voted Republican. I must have been horrified by and arguing with someone else. To me, that kind of deep-seated denial - and the lies that go with it - is a hallmark of conservative Republicans and is about -><- far from sociopathic behavior.

At least your family doesn't have deep seated mental issues over their horrible mistake.
