Edwards on Meet the Press: Will He Defend His Home Purchase? +Iraq WMDs
Edited on Sun Feb-04-07 10:18 AM by The Cleaner
Edwards on MTP this morning. He is now stating that his vocal support to disarm Saddam and his WMD stockpiles was WRONG.

DISCLAIMER: I'm JUST KIDDING about his house thing! Please discuss the CONTENT of Tim Russert's conversation with Edwards. I just thought I'd add a little Sunday morning humor, don't take me seriously about the house thing.

:)

1. If you think he needs to address this burning issue
how about you watch it and report back to us whether or not he did it to your satisfaction?

7. JUST KIDDING about the home!
It's been such an issue on this board I thought I'd interject a little humor in the matter.

No, I don't expect Edwards to defend his home purchase today on MTP.

I'd rather us discuss the content of what Edwards said and how he handled himself. I personally think he was pretty articulate in explaining why he voted for the war and claimed Saddam indeed had WMDs.

16. Oh. LOL! Your humor is very dry.
Yes, I avoided those threads myself. Seems to me that's a Republican trait, to insist that Democrats be ostentatiously poor or else they can't be progressive.

2. "Will He Defend His Home Purchase?"
As one voter in the middle of nowhere, I gotta say, I just don't care.

I do not hate the rich. I do not hate the poor. The only people I hate, really, are morons and that is a fault, an error in my character. People can't help being stupid.

Note: I am NOT calling you stupid. I am just saying that as far as this one voter is concerned, this is a non-issue.

4. 100% agreement here
Why anyone should care that a wealthy man purchased a home within his means boggles my mind.

6. What is the big deal with his house?
In NYC, a six million dollar house is nice, but is nothing special. In NC it is enormous of course and that is why there is attention drawn to it. It is no big deal.

8. Is he describing Ahmedenijad or Bush ?
... isolationist ... bellicose ... elites have abandoned him .. religious leaders have abandonded him ... elected on a platform of economic reform and has done nothing ...

10. Russert asked the same question over and over first 10 mins....
... I guess he thought he could get Edwards to answer differently if he kept at it. Wrong.

Then he tries to get Edwards to attack other Democratic Presidential candidates. No bite there either.

Edwards is coming off very knowledgeable, very detailed in his analysis of the Middle East situation.

13. I saw Timmy trying to bait him
Especially tried to get him to say something bad about Kerry in the part of the show I caught. Good for Edwards for not falling for that crap.

11. Well,
Timmy didn't ask him about his house. Even Russert thought it was a non-issue. ***nuff said***

14. Edwards gave lots of yes/no answers, no equivocating....
That certainly was not what Russert wanted.

Lots of good ideas --clear differences with George Bush and his policies.

15. Edwards answered his critics that he was carrying water for Bush in Iraq...
You have to wonder how some of the critics here reached their conclusions if they read and heard his positions on those questions. He is as different as night to day with George Bush on these issues.
