I have some questions...
Edited on Wed Jun-20-07 08:21 PM by stillcool47
First question. Conyers and Waxman have been doing all those investigations, and collecting all that incriminating information. Could there be criminal prosecutions after these guys leave office? The information is in the Congressional Record, so would there be a problem with that? And, might that make any legal sense in regards to what has happened to our current justice system?
Second question. All this broken record talk about Iran. Could it be that Iran is being pressured to pressure Iraq to sign those all important oil laws?
Third question. In regards to global corporations, and accounting methods. Where would I find an easy read on what kind of international law these corporations operate under? It seems it would be very easy to manipulate figures from one country's operations to another.

1. well
1) yes, they are still subject to criminal prosecution after leaving office. but I wouldn't count on it happening.

2) I dunno. I guess it's possible

3) Corporations operate under the laws of the country they're operating in. In fact, "global corporation" is a bit of a misnomer - there is no global law governing such a thing. A company that operates in 6 countries incorporates in 6 countries. There is, say, a French subsidiary, a Chinese subsidiary, an Australian subsidiary, etc.

The subsidiaries operate under the laws of the nation they're in.

2. thanks ...but question 3...
if you would be so kind. How does say GM Latin America's profit and loss affect the GM stock price, or is it absorbed?
