Seeing that stuff on the teevee and all the anchors slobbering all over that footage, honest to God, I thought he looked like such a doofus! Like as big or bigger dumbass as GWB, omg this thing of trying to crawl up Maggie Thatcher's skirt for credibility or WHATEVER....

Then talkin' real slow-like & sayin' N-O-T-H-I-N-G....

THIS is the big GOP savior??

They've GOT to be kidding!

29. He wants to be a Thatcher Snatcher Scratcher Like Rabid Ronnie
RayGoon.

He's the cream of the GOP crop and he's a B rated POS! Maybe he'll land a lead part in a classic someday, like "Goon With The Wind" or "Love Is A Long and Slender Thing," but I doubt it. "Gomer Goes To Camp" I might believe. Maybe the repig remake of "The Outlaw" co starring Spunk and Moxie.

Cruella... wasn't it??? And...where in tarnation would she be hiding out....on that Horse I bet....I think she gets off on the horse.

But Strange things have happened before our very eyes...Bush was their Cream Of the CROP...we all knew he was a phoney when he buys a ranch and is scared to death of them Ponies/horses...pretending he is a Macho type of Guy...Now we find out this Bush we got?? ...he cannot even hold a hammer properly....

Is Freddie(Thompson don't need a Mask) a Fraud too? Or, is he like a Bush? If Bush cannot fix simple things around the House/Ranch/

How in hell can he fix our National Problemos???

Can Fred fix our Mess??

How Diversified is his Knowledge Base to make very Important Decisions??

The Peeps have opened their Peepers...they have the BS Detectors Out and turned ON...

The GOP is Neck Deep in Doo and ya can tell by the SMELL...

39. We thought Bush was toast back in 2004 and Diebold/Blackwell
saved him.

I won't believe this nightmare is over, until I see a democrat sworn in in 2009!

Frauddy Freddy and Kruddy Karl might steal it again next year, if we don't cross every T.

Acting like it was some big deal and "great strategy" that he was over there gettin' all this international cred posing for a photo op with Maggie, OMG they looked like they were in the wax museum, both of them....

It looked like a Daily Show skit. It was on Wolfie but with a Wolfie sub.

11. Margaret Thatcher is, what--97? Is she still influential...somewhere?
I'm sure this was to give him some "statesman" credentials, since he's been out of elected office for 5 years and is essentially a nobody, but what would they have to discuss--their choices of adult incontinence protection?

9. Tweey himself was not impressed.
He watched the clip of Thompson with a panel and said Thompson had jetlag, and made a few negative comments about his lack of energy. Of course I find the guy appalling physically and every other way, but has the bloom gone off the rose so soon for tweety?

The Thompson love affair was brief, but so intense! Tweety wishes he'd kept a shirt or pair of boxers of Fred's to remind him of that GLORIOUS SMELL!

15. Actors get stuck in time. Tweety loves Thompson as Fred was at 55.
In the movies he still looks gruff and tough and vital. The real Fred hasn't aged so well--he's actually younger than McCain even if the comparison doesn't show it. Thompson is running on memories. He's not a threat to their big three.

12. Yep, I find him pathetic. I found Reagan and Dubya pathetic too by the way.
If you don't understand the psychology of Republican voters, don't make fun of their chances of winning.

I don't think Thompson can pull it off because George Bush has been running a younger version of the same act for the last eight years, but with just a little more Jesus thrown in. So probably Fred won't fly. But that said, I find their other top three candidates equally pathetic, but less stupid, and which ever one of them gets nominated is guaranteed 45% of the vote and 40% if the electoral college even under the worst of circumstances. Throw Bloomy in the mix with his 10-15% of a few Blue states and we could have a real problem no matter who the Republicans nominate.

And make no mistake about it, important people have talked Bloomberg into running as an independent specifically because they need him to siphon off Democratic votes.

16. Nope--I'll bet Bloomberg doesn't really want to hurt the Dem party,
(used to be a Dem), although that may be his effect on the race. He's supposedly considering David Boren for VP (whom I know little about, besides gov of OK, Senator, U of OK prez, anti-union)--if he actually goes with this guy, I might believe you that he's trying to keep Dems from winning. But if he goes with Hagel, he's aiming to steal more from the 'Pugs. I agree Fred won't fly--we've seen this southern good ol boy act before (7 years of it)--the 'Pugs might like it, but why would Dems fall for his phony bullshit?

17. He'll never declare. He won't last 1 minute in a serious interview or
debate.

If he were one of the women playing the desperate housewives, everyone would scream, "What are her qualifications?" But a large, famous man is assumed to "know" how to be a national leader.

Amazing.

Try running for your district leadership and find out what governing is, before you attempt the most powerful seat in the world, for heaven's sake.

24. On Leno, his suit looked like he had been rolled and left in an alley. Then
after the first break, it was straightened out. Needs a lot of handling, I think. Not that suits are that important, if a great Democrat wore a rumpled suit, I would think: "What a genius! Important things on the mind. No time for sartorial elegance."

42. Don't discount the man's chances
I mean, back in 2000 when Bush came back to beat McCain in South Carolina went on to win the nomination, I was happy because I thought McCain would have been more formidable in the general election.

I mean, Bush is a poor speaker, shows little intellectual depth & curiousity, was a failed businessman and a phony cowboy, and a former drunk and drug user, and also one that deserted the military during a time of war. I mean, you can't get a much more ideal opponent than Bush - yet, he was close enough in 2000 and 2004 to steal both elections.

Thompson will at least be able to speak better than Bush, so is already ahead of the game there.
