James Gandolfini has shifted his focus from "The Sopranos" to Iraq. He serves as executive producer of the HBO documentary "Alive Day Memories: Home From Iraq."

The program will debut Sunday, Sept. 9. The actor, who has traveled to Iraq through the USO, also interviewed 10 veterans about their severe injuries and their memories of their "alive day," when they escaped death.

More than 25,000 service people have been injured in the Iraq war.

1. You go James!
Hopefully this shows what our troops actually go through when they return home. It's ugly, I should know, I've seen it with my father for the past 23 years.

4. I'm pretty sure you're wrong.
Gandolfini is typically identified as politically liberal yet independent.<5> He is an ardent supporter of Rutgers' football team, and has appeared in several television commercials for the university's football program, usually alongside head coach Greg Schiano and most recently with another famous Rutgers alumnus, Mario Batali.

Most those associated with The Sopranos are liberal.

5. I stand corrected,
Somebody told me he was being encouraged to run for the state house by the Republicans in New Jersey.
