w's lowest numbers ever, "the country is grumpy", nbc poll.

Just not quite grumpy enough though.
-------

WASHINGTON - As President Bush attempts to revive the controversial immigration reform bill he supports, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that Republicans are abandoning the president, which has dropped his job-approval rating below 30 percent -- his lowest mark ever in the survey.

But he isn’t the only one whose support is on the decline in the poll. Congress’ approval rating has plummeted eight points, bringing it below even Bush’s. And just one in five believe the country is on the right track, which is the lowest number on this question in nearly 15 years.

Republican pollster Neil Newhouse, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, argues that these numbers have crossed below the political “Mendoza line,” referring to the feeble .200 batting-average mark in baseball. “With the mood of the country dropping below 20, and the president’s approval below 30, both are candidates for a sort of political Mendoza line,” he says.

In the poll, Bush’s approval rating is at just 29 percent. It’s a drop of six points since April, and it represents his lowest mark ever on this question in the NBC/Journal poll.

5. These numbers are indicators of a much deeper unrest.
Polls are like the winds, and their accuracy is dubious, I think the disapproval numbers are way higher. I'd say his mythical 25%ers are really more like 10%ers.

17. And that's the kind of "surge" we really need!
Congress has wasted all its support by not doing what it was elected to do. End the war and put a stop to this nonsense Bush/Cheney have been pulling.

Failing to do that, Congress will be viewed as a co-conspirator in the crimes of Bushco.

Foolish Nancy and Harry, they are going to bring down all the Dems in 2008 if they keep it up. The GOP is already done.

4. How long has bu$h's approval rating been at 30%?
For quite some time. Now it is so bad they can't justify propping it up at 30 anymore.

What will it take to get those criminals out of there?

"supporting the troops". Americans want the hell out and IMHO don't give a shit about supporting the troops. I bet their approval would be extraordinarily high if they didn't cave into funding.

20. Grumpy? Yeah, that's what it is.
It's not really about how we were taken to war for no reason, or how our rights are being discarded. It's not about how America's moral image has gone from knight in shining armor to torturer. It's not even about how Americans look at our future with despair.

We're just grumpy. Give us 5 more minutes to sleep, and we'll be over it.

21. This Means Zero To Boooshie & The Corporate Media Loves It
The worst fear of a news director at a cable outlet was for this year to be a boring year before a major election. Thus, they've created an expanded primary season that resembles third grade class president election and I suspect their antics will get even worse. They've taken the political process and made it into a Reality show.

boooooshie doesn't care about polls or popularity....he's just riding this puppy out and letting his henchmen finish their jobs of fleecing the government and constitution. Credibility and popularity mean nothing to boooshie as he's not running again and he could care less who cleans up the mess after he's gone. All he is trying to do is keep the getaway routes clean and create the smog that enables all the corruption to continue.

The last poll booooshie cared about was in Nov., 2004...since then he's been in his own Private Idaho...and the country be damned.

I loathe them all: Republicans and Democrats. If they're politicians they're equally culpable. I wish they'd just all crawl back under their respective rocks and leave us all alone.

29. NBC/WSJ at 29% ... Quinnipiac at 28% !
Latest polls included:

date app(chg)

NBC/WSJ 6/11 29(-6)
Quinnipiac 6/11 28(-7)
Fox 6/06 34(--)
AP/Ipsos 6/06 32(-3)
Gallup 6/03 32(-1)
Pew 6/03 29(-6)
ABC/WaPo 6/01 35(--)
CBS 5/26 30(-2)
ARG 5/21 31(-2)

Every poll (except ABC & Faux, of course) shows a DROP in approval. They're all still 25 points too high, imho.
