1. Ohhh, ya gotta love Jesse! I know he was always considered an
oddball, but he's the most straight talking Dem I know! I wish I could have heard his response to the Limpball question. I saw him laughing, and I laughed at that joke too! I think it's about time somebody gave Rush some of the treatment he's been giving everybody else for years!

7. Jesse is the complete opposite of Pat! I don't know who or what
Jesse sides with...if anybody but himself. I just love it that he's completely honest with his answers, and isn't afraid of anyone! You sure would never hear HIM appologize to an AH like Rush or anyone else! He tells you what he thinks, and he won't back down because some nithead slams him.

I don't know that I agree with him all the time, but I respect him and his honesty. I desperately wish we had a lot more people in politics like him!

50. I agree
While I may not agree with him on every issue, I appreciate the fact that Jesse will tell you where he stands. No politically correct answers, just straight talk. He is not afraid to call 'em as he sees them.

-prosecute Cheney administration
-someone who has been Waterboarded that says it IS torture
-torture is NEVER justifiable and rarely leads to authentic intel
-weaken mexican drug cartels by legalizing marijuana

The guy kind of gives off a conservative he-man vibe at first, which through me off at first, but when he opens his mouth you quickly realize he's pretty intelligent.

perspective on Cuba. Continuing with the embargo and this restriction is just ridiculous. Of course powerful forces won't accept normalized relations until they are allowed to open THEIR cassino's again. The exploiters want free rein to do what they have done to the U.S.A.

19. you know what i just realized about the wanda sykes thing....
on the boob tube, they never show the part before the line where he may be the 20th hijacker... if they played the WHOLE thing, the joke makes sense. she wasn't saying anything about 911 per say... in the entire statement, she is saying that the statements made by limbaugh aren't any different than those made by bin laden, therefore he could have been involved! that makes more sense. but they never play the part before that one line.

I wasn't sure how he viewed that election, until he said he always thought of Norm as a hypocrite. Beautifully and simply summarized by his statement about Norm's quote about how Al should concede the election beacuse he was behind then later not conceding since he is behind.

Jesse appears to be in the service of no one, except for the principals of the Founding Fathers and his country that he went to that horrible Viet Nam War to serve.

And these days it's almost impossible to get such people within the bubble that is corporate MSM.

"What bothers you more; murder or marijuana?"

EXCELLENT POINT!

Nice to have some discourse in America that isn't based on BULLSHIT!

47. K & R! Excellent Interview.
I was in Minnesota when Jesse Ventura was running against Skip Humphrey (Hubert Humphrey the III) and Norm Coleman. A question came up about public schools. After the other two gave their non answers, Ventura said something like, "I send my children to public school. What about you two?" Complete silence from Humphrey and Coleman.

I did not vote for Ventura, I voted Green that year, but Ventura won my respect.

Another situation: a bill requiring 24 hour waiting periods for abortion went to the Governor's desk, a "compromise" bill that the Democratic leadership did not go all out against. Ventura said that if you require a 24-hour waiting period for all elective surgery, he'll sign the bill. But not a special bill targeted against one kind of elective surgery - abortion.

Way more guts and sense than the milk toast Democrats who let that bill go through.

He's not the worst governor we've ever had. In fact, I'd take him over our current one in a heartbeat.

Jesse has no filter between his brain and his mouth and has sometimes said some pretty insensitive things. However, I can't argue with anything he said here.

65. So true -- Jesse is certainly NOT boring
I can't forgive him for the petulant tantrum he threw after the Wellstone memorial which caused him to send Dean Barkley to the Senate instead of a Dem, like he had promised. But that's vintage Jesse -- everything's all about him. In spite of that, I'd still rather he were Governor instead of Pawlenty.

At least his libertarian views are consistent. With him, you know what you are getting.

Edited on Tue May-12-09 08:57 PM by bertman
toots sweet. King surely knew he couldn't control an interview with Jesse, but it still messed him up when Jesse started saying what everyone already knows about Bush and Dickless.

"I live in Mexico and I read a lot. I don't watch much tv." Then he proceeds to skin Bush and Cheney alive. YOU GOT TO LOVE JESSE!!!! He's a gift. President Obama and the Democrats should find a way to take advantage of that but you know they're scared to death of what he'd say on other topics.

Jesse's "Don't Start the Revolution Without Me" is a decent read. Not an epic but very interesting for how "normal" the guy is in the sense that he sees things like everyday people and not like a Fortune 500 CEO or a bought-and-sold Washington politician.

I would love to have heard the conversation between Cheney and the CEO of CNN when Cheney got word of that interview.

Jesse was right about the SEALs at jump school Those guys were great. We ran in formation doing the airborne shuffle and they ran circles (literally) around our formations. One morning when we got to the training fields we saw a SEAL class banner strung up at the top of the 250-foot jump towers. We loved it and we loved having those guys around. Even if they made us look like pikers.
