Pro-Choice has Nothing to do with Capital Punishment
The right to abortion is based on the right of PRIVACY and PERSONAL AUTONOMY over one's own body. A woman has the right to have a fetus removed from her body.
Capital punishment is the execution of a citizen by the authority of the state.
You may oppose or support capital punishment, but it has NOTHING to do with the principles that support the right to abortion.
As such, moderation tends to be a tad, "loose." I don't think there's as many around times like this. Who knew that Sadaam would be executed the weekend of New Years Eve?
Some seem to be taking advantage of that fact by creating purposely inflammatory posts. :hi:
some(Conservatives) stress "Life Issues over the entire Continuum of the human life span. Pro Life Cradle to grave. This mean Pro-life on Abortion Issue, Unless a war can be morally justified, Anti-War is the being for life . Anti Euthanasia is being for life. Anti-Capital Punishment is being for life and position of church.
Conservative(Many)Catholics were gung ho for Iraq War whild the Vatican was tryign to explain it was Morally Unjustified. These same person would be the Absolutist on Abortion.
I didn't want to tread in the other viewpoint that it was in some magically mysterious way connected. To equate the two...you might as well take a shit and sell it as applesauce--because the two of those are as similar as pro-choice and the death penalty. I figured it was just a freeperish way to turn our words around on us. For years, we have said that being anti-abortion was NOT pro-life because if someone was REALLY pro-life...not only would they oppose the war, they would oppose capital punishment.
