Justification for Tapping Phone Lines |
|
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 01:36 PM by hpot
Can receiving a call from another country be used as justification for tapping phone lines?
I have been receiving calls from non-English (or Spanish) speaking persons originating out of the US. Don't know who they are or how they got my number. Since there is a language barrier we eventually hang up. This just started recently and I've had my phone number for almost two years. There is no way to see if these are routed or just mistaken phone calls.
Anyone else having this problem?

I would try calling the phone company and talk to them about possibilities of implementing a block on the number.

you bring up a very good point. I believe that many telemarketers have been outsourced and it wouldn't surprise me at all if this administration would use that loophole to gain access to our freedoms. This is something very interesting to consider. I would bet that folks could easily be put on a watch list simply for receiving calls from undesirable foreign locations. Remember how people were put on the terrorist watch lists at the airlines for bogus reasons?
