Okay well at least some acknowledgement.
Starting tommorow I am going to be completely car-free for my commute to work.
Typically I drove my 06 Civic which is low on gas mileage as it is a mere 1.5 miles to the bus stop where I would take the bus to work and back. To me that was being pretty good about conserving, ect. My place of work is about 7 miles away, but it's a tough drive needless to say especially here in Tucson where even Mexicans who come up here to shop complain about how much traffic sucks up here. Sorry I'm not being driven to sell my car because I happen to love that machine, but it's gonna get a hell of alot less use-it truly is going to be just a weekend toy, and at around 32-35 mpg I'm not going to feel guilty about putting 10-15 miles a week on it.
Well I have yanked my bicycle out of storage, bought some gear today, and from this day forward I am biking to the bus station, and for the trip home I am going to bike the entire way. Only reason I don't just bicycle to work is because I have to look clean and presentable everyday (read: can't show up all sweaty and dirty) and there are no showers or anything in the office I work at.
I keep a fridge at work, tonight I'm gonna go load it up with food and put some fresh clothes so that my trips don't require me to carry anything but myself and water. The morning trip to the bus stop will be done at around 5:30 am so the sun's deadly rays aren't frying the land yet.
Combine this with the fact that we have now are in the season of average temperatures which reach anywhere from 104-109 and tons of sun.
Oh yes I bought one of those camel backpacks :)
So there we go, the most ultimate way I can send a fuck you to oil companies and get on a fast track to being fit at the same time.
Did I mention I've also been Vegan for the past couple of months and since then I cannot remember ever setting foot into a restaraunt-even wanting to go to one. Been doing all my own home cooking for the past month and a half at least with nothing but mother nature's finest fruits and veggies....and Hemp :) (For those who don't know Hemp is NOT illegal to purchase in the states but it is to grow it. It CANNOT get you high in anyway-it merely has that sitgma from being in the same plant family as Marijuana)
I have to say it feels pretty freakin good, I'm 24 years old, but I can't remember the last time I felt so full of energy and in shape, last time I think I felt this upbeat was when I was 12 years old playing little league baseball. You neo-greenies really do have a hell of a lifestyle goin I am happy to be a part of it.
Shouts from the girl and I
