Since the day Kerry conceded I have never seen so many hurting people on this site as I have this past week. Those of you who've either posted a down and out or feeling helpless comment, which I've seen many many many of lately, or who have read them like me - please know I hurt with each and every one of you as do a lot of us here on DU with differing views, but one common collective thought - and that's equality and happiness for ALL!
We've been battered emotionally by the Bush Administration, from watching hours of warfare stories of dead soldiers and Iraqi citizens or having it effect our families directly, to tens of thousands suffering in New Orleans area while Bush ate cake and strummed a guitar on vacation, and now watching him seek a very negative change to the Constitution, that he has no right in pushing for - it's bigoted, homophobic, and obvious pandering.
FOR ALL OF US WHO ARE HURTING & HOPING - I OFFER THESE LYRICS TO 'THERE CAN BE MIRACLES'
Many nights we've prayed With no proof anyone could hear In our hearts a hope for a song We barely understood Now we are not afraid Although we know there's much to fear We were moving mountains Long before we knew we could
There can be miracles When you believe Though hope is frail, It's hard to kill Who knows what miracles You can achieve When you believe Somehow you will You will when you believe
In this time of fear When prayer so often proves in vain Hope seemes like the summer birds Too swiftly flown away Yet now I'm standing here With a heart so full I can't explain Seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd say
There can be miracles when you believe Though hope is frail, It's hard to kill Who knows what miracles You can achieve When you believe Somehow you will You will when you believe...
You can achieve When you believe Somehow you will Now you will You will when you believe
BLESS YOU DU'ers - VICTORY IN 06!
