my REAL hot days of summer photos
Since I hadn't encountered any of my summer favorites before the challenge, here they are:

baby barn swallow

baby barn swallow and 3 siblings

Mom and Dad barn swallow nearly took my ears off getting these photos. You've seen the funniest home videos of cats being dive bombed by birds ....

And my all time favorite, it can't be summer without a toad fix photo (You'd never have guessed that from my name, now would you):

2. "baby barn swallow" is adorable
The expression on his/her face..... love it. And I'd guess that mom/dad would be just a little upset with you being that close to the "kids".

3. Dang, those swallows are cute...
They look pissed off, but they're cute! :D

Your picture of me has a wee bit of motion blue, but it's a studious toad... look at 'im, he's obviously in deep thought. (but be careful, let 'im sit there for too long and your hand will be in deep doo! :spray: )

4. It was the least blurry of my toad pics
She was intent on hopping away, and kept moving. ("he" would have had a speckled black chin to sing for his mate.) Her deep thought was, one...two...three...LEAP

Not so much "deep doo" as wet, which I make sure they're done with outside. Keeps my mother happier... :D (I figure that's what they make soap and water for...)

Here's one my daughter (Feli) took (alas, it's also a "she"):
