Anyone exceedingly familiar with Ramtha?
I have to admit I'm not. (I'm just getting around to watching What the Bleep, so...) Has anyone followed his teachings--the good, the bad, the ugly?

Anyway, any opinions? Thanks! :hi:

2. I know far more stuff about Ramtha than I care too
due to a former employment situation.

All I can say is that I always resonated with Kryon, Metatron, AA Michael, and St. Germain a whole lot more.

I could easily get caddy here. But I choose not to.

7. I may PM you, Stella
I have a couple of questions. Nothing incriminating.

3. Only A Feeling Here But ...
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 02:29 AM by mntleo2
...also some of my own process when weeding out who I trust:

JZ Knight made a whole lot of money and became famous, she had a lot of followers (some who I respect) but I saw her once "go into trance" on film and almost immediately I could not help but think her whole schtick was bunk. I have learned to respect my instincts. Somehow there are some that ring false and some that true with me and what rings true with me are: Seth, Michael (tho I knew someone connected with that group which gave me validation when before that I was skeptical but open), and Edgar Cayce, to name a few.

I have no problem with people making a living off these gifts ~ as long as they are modest about it. A talented musician should be able to live off their talents, a gifted artist should be able to sell their paintings enough to feed their family, etc. But it never ceases to fail when the monetary reward becomes more meanigful than the talent that is being given, the gift becomes corrupted.

It is no different to be a medium in this case to me except one: medium work is a spiritual gift and therefore the person using that gift have a lot of souls they are morally responsible to (living and no longer in this world) so they should not seek wealth, which could corrupt them and foster greed, which in turn takes away their gift and it becomes forced and fake ~ and to lie to those around you who trust Spirit is a sin. I feel the same way about anyone who becomes a minister or holy person ...yes they should be able to live off their chosen profession, but modestly ...if they seek riches, there is something wrong and it will most surely corrupt whatever sincerity they had and turn it into greed. Their main goal should be to help others first ~ the comforts of life will follow, if this is their Path. No I do not mean to say they should give all of it away, but some to those who could not otherwise afford their work at times, should be part of their "tithe" to Spirit. When I see the need for mansions and such it is always a warning sign to me something is not good and to stay away from it.

So I begin to have problems with the ones who have to be rich, owning expensive but relatively useless items(not adding to Gaia in any sense) like owning fancy cars, race horses and such. I do not think horses are useless ~ if they are kept for more of a reason than running their hearts out and legs off in races that only cause amusement for the rich and do little else. JZ Knight is one of those people. Besides her fake way of conjuring up Ramtha, she has to have that mansion and those "horses." This bothers me. A lot.

5. Good points, mntleo2
I don't know if Ramtha is authentic or not, but we all just have to follow our 'inner bell' when it comes to these things and accept what is helpful and discard what is not. We need to remember, too, that even the best medium, channeler, etc., can have an 'off' day.

4. It was a gift
and at some point, she lost the connection. Now, she is just faking it.

9. Interesting, Bonnie
I haven't been following her channeling, so I haven't witnessed the difference between real and faking, but I'm sure it's quite different. Thanks so much! :hi:

10. Personally...
I listen to the teachings and decide what makes sense. I don't care if she makes it up or not. I think she has some worthwhile stuff and some things that I ignore. In the movie "What the Bleep...." I didn't get as much from her, but my wife loved her. In the old days I enjoyed her videos, but I can't remember anything from them.

BTW, I really liked Carlos Castaneda, even after finding out the he didn't spend all that time in Mexico learning from a sorcerer. Hey, Jesus was a politician, and I don't believe for a minute that he came back from the dead on the third day, but "Love your neighbor as yourself" sure rings true.

11. I have been doing that too
I've been reading a couple of the JZ/Ramtha books, and so far what she/he has said about the nature of consciousness has been the same thing I've heard from others. So I don't have a problem with it (so far). I'm going to keep reading, of course!

Thanks, Bill! :hi:

12. Anyone channelling a spirit
asking for payment in gold only sets off some alarms. The movie 'What the Bleep' lost credibility as soon as I saw Ramtha, then I was sorry I contributed to her enterprise.

13. LOL
Funny everyone's reactions to this. I was willing to put up with the Ramtha bs because I thought the movie was way better than average.

I echo everyone's sentiments here about taking what you can from something like this, and brushing the rest aside. A lot of these people really, really annoy me because it is like all or nothing. Too bad, I think for myself, thank you. Make your best case and then, I might pick up a few ideas..........
