Dinger's NFC Championship Report (Pics Included):
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 05:23 PM by Dinger
First of all, congratulations to the Giants. There were not very many Giant fans at Lambeau, but the few we talked to were classy and friendly. They were especially happy for the win because of their respect for the Packers, Brett, etc.
As far as was the season a success? Yes. As hard as the loss yesterday was, there are some things to consider:
1. Our team is on the upswing, not a downswing.
2. Added to that, we are the youngest team in the NFl, and logic says we will only get better.
3. The last time we lost a NFC Championship game, we went on to go to the next two Superbowls,
and took home the Lombardi Trophy one of those times.
4. More likely that Brett will be back next year.

*Feel free to add any I might have left out.

Ding:-)

1. I thought I saw the Badger Band in the background of the pregame show
They of course did not show it on air. They only had their red sweaters and stocking hats on, pretty cold even for a short time. Did they actually play? That is mighty hard under those conditions.

2. Thanks for those.
Lambeau at night actually looks like a big skating rink.

4. #5 - Nobody expected this team to do well at the beginning of the season.
Well, except for us die-hard Packers fans!

It was nice to see Bart Starr there, too. :)

Great pic, Ding!!!

5. couple other things to consider
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 09:42 PM by Sabien
1) Hell let's be honest - we were lucky to have gotten that far this year...very lucky @ times.
2) Future is quite bright for this team...no doubt about it.
3) Tip for next sub-zero game - besides a seat, BRING STYROFOAM TO REST YOUR FEET ON - I'm not kidding, heat gets sucked right out of your feet if you don't have it.
4) The bare arm thing on players is just dumb.
5) No bad seats @ Lambeau - really!
6) Commercials in the stadium really tick me off.
7) The crowd was SILENT when Pack had the ball in overtime - until the turnover - that was very unusual.
8) Leaving the stadium was also eerily silent...like a funeral march - heads down very little said - that was also very strange.

I'd rather lose like that @ Lambeau than lose like that @ Dallas or Phoenix.

Chin up and be thankful for what a fun ride this season was!

7. Thanks for the pics!
I've only been to Lambeau twice, and never at night. Maybe next season! And maybe for the playoffs too!

UW-Marching Band are always a pleasure to watch! But playing brass in that weather is next to impossible! Kudos to them!
