Another family of five dead? what on earth is going on ...

(CNN) -- Five members of a family were found slain in their Beason, Illinois, home, authorities said Tuesday, and they urged people in the area to be cautious until the killer is found.

"This was a brutal homicide against an entire family and we are determined to identify and arrest those responsible," Logan County Sheriff Steve Nichols said in a news conference.

He said authorities received a 911 call about a possible shooting at the home shortly before 4:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. ET) Monday. When law enforcement officials arrived, they discovered the five bodies, Nichols said.

it happens near you. I have family in that area, all over central Illinois, really. I have some "you okay?" e-mails to send.

So, sad. Whole families. Why?

Moved away from central Illinois a couple months ago, but have been glued to my old local newspaper and sources.....horrible. Hope they catch the person soon.

...and no reason to start moaning about 'how society has failed' etc, etc.

You can scour the books and find stories of family annihilators (killed my family member) or family killings by strangers.

This sucks and I weep for the living child, but this is not some new trend. Humans have sucked this bad for centuries.

10. When people have lost everything.. they lose it...

We have always had homicides. But recently..people have lost their home, their jobs, their savings, their clean air and clean water. All the while.. the politicians and Bankers have raised taxes.. cut wages and sent our kids off to die in illegal wars.

Add in right wing churches spewing mind-numbing nonsense and intolerance... and people snap... they just lose it.
