How Long Will Obama Put Up With The Likes Of Cheney & Rove.......
belittling him and blaming him for things they did under the BushCo administration? Seems to me that everyone has their breaking point and I thinking that Cheney & Rove and the party of 'No' will push him just a bit too far and when that happens - I hope that he'll support investigations and prosecute these criminals.

I just don't understand why the Cheney & Rove keep on almost daring Obama to take them on?

1. He can tap their phones
and it would be legal to do it too---without a warrant.

Because Bush made it legal.

7. I just watched the movie Pale Rider
After whupping up on four guys with an axe handle Clint Eastwood says in that quiet understated way "There's nothing like a good piece of hickory."

I'm looking forward to Obama saying that!

31. "not actually going to wait?"
what does that actually mean?

Am I going to hold my breath? No.
Am I going to sit in one place immobile? No.
Am I going to do it myself? No.

but "wait for it to happen?" No. I think I will proceed with my life.

28. Well I Think We Finally Flushed You Out Mr. Cheney.....
nothing else to do but shoot your mouth off trying to pretty up your legacy - so now you resort to posting on DU as Uncle Ted. We know its you Mr. Cheney.

And guess what you are still talking out of both sides of your mouth.

You say "People from all over this world have been coming here for hundreds of years to get away from a progressive totalitarian govt." When just above that statement you are concerned about the refuges and immigrants that are still coming here.

So now after hundreds of years you want that to stop? Well Mr. Cheney - we are still the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave and because of that people still want a piece of that.

Why don't you crawl back in to that 'undisclosed location' that you used for the last 8 years and leave us alone. Didn't you screw things up enough?

9. Well, until he turns our country into a socialist-fascist dictatorship
Edited on Sat May-23-09 11:17 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
there isn't a whole lot HE can do about them other than to keep doing what he and his administration and the rest of us feel are in the best interest of our country, particularly if the corporate mediawhores keep willingly giving Cheney, Rove, Gingrich, et. al a platform for their venomous rants. Frankly, the more Cheney (and others) talk and defend torture, the more bizarre they all seem and Cheney, in particular, is practically indicting himself for his role in those decisions. God willing somebody will take the bait and actually charge him (and hopefully others), particularly since he's putting so much out there in the public record. My guess is that President Obama is perfectly content for Cheney to keep shooting his mouth off. Cheney is actually doing a public service by illustrating the criminality of the previous (mis-)administration far better than President Obama (or anybody) could EVER hope to do.

10. At this point he is unlikely to support prosecutions himself. I think his actions spoke loud and
clear: "I have no intention of letting Bushco get prosecuted for anything and will actively defend them if I must."

13. I don't think he is ignoring it
I am more than willing to bet that he is (like he has done in the past) handing them plenty of albatros and allowing them to trip themselves up. They will cross a line and I think they are pretty close to it.

What Cheney is doing is beyond constructive criticism, it's getting close to posing a threat to the country.

President Obama cannot come out in a frontal attack with these losers....but Congress could start being more aggressive in their investigations.

25. Well
between this post and your previous post, I would bet it's safe to say that you have the market cornered on the mascot.

But then you probably already knew that when you came here pretending to be a concerned citizen of this great country of ours. Perhaps spell check would have helped in keeping your covert operation going a bit longer.

Nice try though. Tell them next time send in a veteran.......you rookies just don't pass the test.

16. Here's an idea, of Congress had one ball between them......
Criminal Prosecution for Cheney's crimes! He ordered torture on people, and used flunking Justice Department lawyers to do it. Rove tried hard to get the Justice Department to become the Political Prisoners department. These two belong in prison.

37. that's exactly what they're doing - daring Obama to take them on

its like they want to be prosecuted - I really think they are trying to rile things up so that they can go in and testify under oath how they were trying to keep America safe- they really believe they're on lies, and want desperately to be vindicated in a court of law, They are certain they would win- and they want the spectacle of Obama's lawyers questioning them and trying them for criminal behavior.

if there is one thing they know, its good guy/bad guy politics. they believe being prosecuted would put them in the good guy camp in the America people's eyes- a place where they are not right now.

I say no, don't give them their spectacle of lies. Ignoring them is far worse punishment. Eventually they would be relegated to being unwelcome noisy old men who want to do nothing more that try and cause a scene. Kind of smelly - no one wants them around to remind them of nasty things. Cheney and Rove would hate that - it would the worst kind of punishment.
