It is usual to find wingnuts referring to him as "Barry" in an attempt to trivialize him, though. That does not mean I'm saying you're a wingnut, it's just that he does not introduce himself as "Barry," but as "Barack."

After all, he didn't mind being called Barry throughout high school. I respect Barack but I like Barry. Get it?

All kidding aside:

I usually only see Barack Obama referred to as Barry in a right-wing context, so I suppose I'm sensitive to seeing him addressed as that. Also, after reading the article at the link below, I relate even more to the phrase, what's in a name, so to speak.
