Hey, Skinner! (Spellcheck issue edited with a fix for those who have had issues)
Edited on Mon May-12-08 03:11 PM by MercutioATC
Once the nomination is decided, can we at least get the word "Obama" recognized as something other than a typo in the DU spellchecker?

(on edit)

This isn't a DU issue, it's a Firefox issue. "Obama" and "Obama's" showed as misspelled in the body of my posts here. If I highlight the word, right-click on it, and choose "add to dictionary", it fixes the problem.

Thanks to The River for the fix.

3. My laptop keyboard doesn't do double letters well....
...or maybe I just type them too fast..

Regardless, I try to look for the dreaded "red underline" when I post, and it's annoying that the name of one of the two candidates left always registers as a typo.

14. If you're using Firefox, follow the advice below....right-click on "Obama's" and choose
"add to dictionary".

Apparently, this entire issue was all my Firefox dictionary settings. Works fine now.

15. Thanks, MercutioATC...
I use IE, I wonder if it is the same in that I need to add it as being properly spelled somewhere in my program or whether it is something that can only be added to DU's spell check?

6. Maybe tied into some MS spellchecker on my laptop?
Edited on Mon May-12-08 02:50 PM by MercutioATC
I thought that DU's would take precedence...maybe not.

(on edit) I wouldn't even know where to look...I don't run MS Word or Works.

10. It doesn't check the subject line, but if you misspell in the body of a post,
there's a red line under the misspelling.

Obviously, you have excellent spelling.

12. It's in the spellchecker already.
I'm guessing that you use Firefox, and the built-in spell checker is the source of your problem.
