Hillary is clever. (A view from the state due south of Indiana)
Hillary is clever. She has figured out the language to use in luring lower-class whites in Indiana to vote for her. Despite being the poster child for elitism with over $100 million in the bank, she is cynically using supposed anti-elitist language in selling a "cheap gas" gimmick that actually will do nothing to reduce prices at the pump. What's worse is that in one of her latest ads, she promises bringing gas prices back down "for good" — as if that’s even likely with peak oil come and gone.

Hopefully, many people will wake up in time to realize that Barack Obama is telling them the truth about gas taxes and what it will really take to calm down the gas price hikes.

29. Shrewd, unprincipled, deceitful ... lots of apt synonyms.
 Some folks like that ... but who'd want someone like that in their neighborhood?

17. Do you realize that stupidity will rip this party apart faster than anything else?
Edited on Tue May-06-08 09:20 AM by Labors of Hercules
And the "elitist" label hasn't been "earned"... It has been mis-applied by the Hillary campaign and widely accepted by those people who don't know what the fuck an elitist really is or to whom the term most appropriately applies:

(namely, since you like labels so much, IDIOTS like you). :grr:

does make Hillary an elitist. No question.

Obama is not doing that -- he's telling them the truth!

28. He was for it, then realized it didn't work. He learned. Why didn't Hillary?
Besides, if it did pass, prices at the pump won't change. This should be obvious to most people.

12. I love how a gas-tax break is idiotic, but free trade/trickle down economics are just peachy
So it's insane to think that a gas-tax holiday will help the average American, but "free trade"/deregulation/H1Bs, etc. will eventually redound to the benefit of the average worker one day...right?

23. ....
"In 1946 Stalin, one of the leading killers of all time but no fool, recognized that Soviet Russia was short of oil, particularly if he was going to successfully wage war on the world. At that time the Baku fields in Russia were running dry and most Soviet territory appeared to not contain oil. His assignment to his scientific community was to learn all that was possible about petroleum and its origins. "By 1951, what has been called the modern Russian – Ukrainian Theory Of Deep Abiotic Petroleum Origins" was born (maybe born again would be more accurate), and debated, studied and peer reviewed for twenty years, all in Russian of course, and completely ignored by the West.

It has long since been much more than a theory and for twenty years Russian drillers have successfully brought in super deep wells using it. The deepest exploratory hole went to 40,000 feet. Russia, once regarded as having little potential, is now, along with ourselves and Saudi Arabia one of the top three oil producers in the world. There are more than 80 oil and gas fields in the Caspian district, all producing from crystalline basement rock. 90 petroleum fields have been developed in western Siberia. "11 major and one giant field have been developed in the Dnieper-Donets basin;" there are 20 wells in Viet Nam producing at 17,000 feet in areas that Western experts considered not worth exploring."

20. Besides language, have you noticed her pronunciation?
Depending on the crowd she's addressing, she's drops her "ing" endings to "in" and tries to sound folksy.
