For the "I won't vote if my candidate isn't nominated" crowd...
"Let me just look you in the eye," McCain told me. "I've said a thousand times on this campaign trail, I've said as often as I can, that I want to find clones of Alito and Roberts. I worked as hard as anybody to get them confirmed. I look you in the eye and tell you I've said a thousand times that I wanted Alito and Roberts. I have told anybody who will listen. I flat-out tell you I will have people as close to Roberts and Alito , and I am proud of my record of working to get them confirmed, and people who worked to get them confirmed will tell you how hard I worked."

So please, bicker, fight, argue all you want now...once we have a nominee, go vote..don't stay home, hold your nose if you have to, but vote...because the worst of democrats is 100 times better than one of theirs!

2. Has nothing to do with "my" candidate
I just won't vote for Obama. And those of you that do will be sadly disappointed if he is the nominee. Why do I feel like this is 2004 and I'm talking about Kerry again?

13. They will do the same thing to Barack that they did to Kerry.
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 02:08 PM by AndyA
And, frankly, I can see Barack reacting in the same ineffective manner that Kerry did.

Plus, this Rezko thing is waving some serious red flags. Even if there isn't anything there, the GOP spin machine will make Barack out to be a gangster. This is why I think the GOP's attack against Barack will work. He hasn't been able to effectively deal with the Donnie McClurkin issue, nor has he been effective with the Rezko scandal.

Toss in the folks who will not vote for a black man, and you have the recipe for failure.

Can you say President McCain? :scared:

5. Especially important, given the ages of Stevens and Ginsburg
Five decades of progressive reform will be wiped away in a heartbeat with two more Scalitos on the bench.

6. Initially I was with Kucinich, then he dropped out. Then I went with Edwards, now he's dropped out.
I figure I can do one of two things:

1) Look at the records and positions of Obama and Hillary more closely and try to select one before the Kansas caucus next Tuesday, or;

2) Stand back and let their supporters slug it out and vote for the one left standing.

No matter: In November, I'm voting for the candidate whose last name ends in capital "D."

If HC is nominated I will hold my nose and do it for the good of our country and the world. Our very existence depends on all of us getting over our pettiness. Just do it... VOTE!

10. Suggestion for your candidate - raise the bar
If you want Edwards supporters votes, adopt his policies. You can start with health care reform.

12. Just give us time
Right now the mere thought of voting for Hillary makes me want to vomit but if its all over this summer and I have months to think about what another supreme court person will do to this country there is a very slight chance I will vote for her.

I personally believe if she wins then McCain will be pres...heck even my own kids are going to vote for him if Obama doesn't make it...

And you can't draw on the old people for her like in the primaries...hello...old...mccain...

He will try his hardest to stay in the middle and talk about how he has worked with both sides gee like how Obama is...which is why HE should be the one against McCain...

I can't stand McCain but I know a lot of people who hate Hillary...republicans and democrats.

So while you are trying to remind us that we need to stay dem, if we the core of the fighters are struggling what do you think the rest of america who doesn't think about this shit is doing??? voting for mccain sorry to say.

GE he won't win. I really hope that if all this doesn't stop someone will come in that we can really get behind. Gore, Feingold someone.

16. "Democracy is not a spectator sport."
We need to participate which means voting. Unfortunately sometimes our
choice of candidates are not chosen. (Mine has dropped out). But that doesn't mean
i won't vote. z

19. No matter how many times Hillary supporters through this in my face,
I will not, can not vote for her. I have voted for Democrats again, and again, and again because of the court.

This is always the last ditch effort to scare us into voting, I have fallen for each and every time until now.

And the court has moved farther and farther to the right. So why is that an argument to vote for her solely for this reason?

This time if its Hillary, I am taking a pass. If there is no viable third party candidate, I will leave the top of ticket blank.

Nope. No scare tactics will cause me to vote for such an unappealing candidate who voted for an illegal war and who
will do what ever it takes, no matter if that includes lies to get elected.

This really strikes a chord in me. The Clintons think they can treat the voters as if we are idiots and we will come scurrying back
under her umbrella because of the courts. By the way the courts are loaded with conservatives, young conservatives and will
be so for a long time. It is already too late.

The only chance we have now is to get the people on our side. And the only
Democrat that is going to do that Is Obama.
