Who has read his two books "The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams of my Father". How much did they influence you to either pick him as your candidate or move on and look for someone else.
Either way, was there a particular passage that was especially pertinent to that decision? Care to share?
I'm going to be reading both of them in the next couple weeks and was wondering how influential they'd been.

What aspect of the book alarmed you, if you don't mind me asking?

3. I read both and while I can't quote from them, the general overtone really turned me off! |

I didn't care for the "bipartisanship and the admiration of GOP tactics.". The Reagan remarks aren't "new" they are in the first book I believe. He also has a sort of 'pro coprporate stance" that is probaly why Wall Street likes him. I saw nothing but retooled "status quo' in his books and I want real "change" not just rhetoric. He has no solutions to "fix"the system or "replace". He seems to be nothing but talking points mimicked from former candidates. He heavilt "borrows" from Bill Clinton and John Edwards. He has nothing "original " to say and nothing of substance to offer.

4. I haven't read them, but my dad read |

'Audacity of Hope', and Gore's 'Assault on Reason'. He supported Gore until it was apparent he wouldn't run. He now supports Edwards, as do I.

at least though written by the candidate themselves. it seems like a waste of time to me, like sitting and looking at campaign commercials for an hour. i prefer to do my own research.
