I dont think so. I think if McCain wins, which I think now he will, he is unstoppable because he will take Florida, and may even take NY away from Rudy. Hopefully Im wrong though.

1. Yes but only by Romney
Romney has the money to compete strongly nationally on Super Tuesday.

2. Im just not sure in which states. I dont think he has really won a state all by himself
Michigan is his home state, and no body really cared about Nevada and Wyoming.

3. I hope not.
Karl Rove already mapped out the campaign against McCain, and kicked his ass. If McCain wins the nomination this year, he'll be running against two opponents: the Dem nominee and all the slime Karl Rove heaped on him back in 2000.

In fact, it would be perfectly fitting for just such a thing to happen, because that's exactly what the Bush Administration is famous for: blowback. It will be nice to see it blow on someone else for a change.

7. We don't have to.
Instead, we have the Washington Post doing it for us:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/19/AR2008011903187.html?hpid=topnews

There's a classic Washington article for you. The title is, McCain Defuses Conservatives, and it's careful not to drag the allegations out into full daylight... yet. But the Post's jackals will be back feeding on that carcass sometime soon, you can bet on it.

And in the meantime, except for a touch of schaudenfreude, my conscience is clear.

So run, John, run!

5. If Thompson drops out
Most of his support in the South will go to Huckabee. But I don't know that it will be enough to make a difference on Super Tuesday.
